From 10th-24th February, guests who purchase a serving of ‘Drunken Dumpling’ will receive a custom coaster including a small blurb on the back with information about the drink and how it relates to the name as well as the ‘toast’.


Valentine's Day Pop-Up

The Gresham

Daniella will be utilising the backroom bar at the Gresham for a Valentine’s Day pop up to showcase her cocktail, the 'Gratitude' cocktail ,and its message, to celebrate the little things.

As well as through the Gresham's social media channels, Daniella will be promoting the cocktail through an Instagram account (@gratitudecocktail) where she will share things such as inspiration behind the drinks and how to videos.


Arts and Crafts Session

The Bowery

For World Bartender Day, “Haru No Nage” will be listed on the menu at Suzie Wong’s, the new venue opening up in place of the Bowery, from 10th to 24th February. On the 23rd or 24th of February (exact date TBC), a 10 pax arts and craft session will be hosted in the outside section of Suzie Wong’s. This will be From 12 -2 and will involve the creation of bonseki, a small Japanese garden made with artificial moss and trees. Guests will be served the ‘Haru No Nage’ cocktail, as well as a HAKU Vodka highball.


Aperitivo Hour

The Gresham

Zoltan’s event for the Magyar this year will be an Aperitivo hour takeover of the backroom at the Gresham from 4pm on February 21st.

The Magyar will be sold and samples exclusively for 2 hours between 4pm and 6pm and will be complimented with tradition Hungarian snacks for an Aperitivo pairing to celebrate the style of the cocktail and my Hungarian heritage.


WIRES Charity Donation

Death and Taxes

‘The Barran’ will be available at Death and Taxes from the 10th - 24th of February. Since the drink is a toast to a former wildlife rescuer, all proceeds made from the drink will be donated to WIRES.

WIRES is a wildlife rescue organisation with a mission to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian Wildlife and inspire others to do the same. These catastrophic fires combined with the worst recorded drought in Australian history have had devastating effects on both our nature and our land. There are some selfless souls out there doing everything they can to support our wildlife, and in doing so need our support as well.

The week before the start of the two-week promotion, Andie is holding a takeover to promote her drink. During the two weeks, there will be four nights where she will be pairing small bar food with her drink that focuses on one of the main elements in her recipe.


Classic Cocktail Class and Whisky Tasting

Death and Taxes

On Sunday 16th February at 2pm, Death and Taxes will be hosting a Classic Cocktail/cocktail creation class and Bowmore whisky tasting, with proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Australia. The event will include a welcome highball on arrival, tastings of Bowmore No. 1, Bowmore 12 and Bowmore 15, and an in depth explanation of Joe’s cocktail for The Perfect Blend, “The Lights of Lochindaal”.


Hospo Charity Event

The Cambus Wallace

The Cambus Wallace will be promoting the ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ cocktail for the 2 weeks leading up to World Bartender Day.

Joshua will be hosting a hospo event on the 4th Feb, where he will be selling shirts with all proceeds going to the WIRES for further help to our native wildlife. He will continue stocking shirts to sell until the end of February. The event is being held to create awareness for mental health issues within the service industry. Red Cross Fundraising

The Boom Boom Room

Joey will be working an event at Blackbird on Friday the 14th of February to promote his cocktail. This event will raise money for the bushfire appeal, with all profits from the sale of his cocktail going to the Red Cross.


Cocktail History Trivia Night


This year I'll be hosting a cocktail history trivia night on 5th February at Blackbird, our sister venue, while Boom Boom Room is closed for refurbishment. My toast to this year is to Brisbane bartender Joseph Chisholm, and with a milk punch in hand in celebration of World Bartender Day this year I'd like to use our best tool behind the bar, our brains, in a battle of wits.

In February, Tristan Robins will be hosting a Classic Gin Cocktail Class using Sipsmith. Tickets will be available to the public, of which the proceeds for Will go to Share the Dignity helping women in crisis.

Adam’s Cocktail will be available at Blackbird Bar and Grill from 10th-24th February. Guests have the option to purchase "Peach it out" for $22, or a food pairing with a choice of 4 cheeses for $35.


Shiso Sunset Pop-Up

On Thursday 20 February we will be holding a Shiso Sunset Popup during dinner service. It will be a mini Shinjuku bar, featuring take home cocktail recipes.


Cobbler Cocktail and Cheese Night


Cobbler Bar will be hosting a cocktail and cheese night!

Sam Richards from deluxe food will be coming in to talk all about cheese, where it comes from, how it is aged, appellations, and production methods. Leroy will also be holding a fermentation and yeast masterclass, talking about the effects of yeast in distillation and then talking about using milk solids and proteins in drinks.

It will be a ticketed event held on the 11th of Feb (Tuesday). Tickets will be available through the Cobbler Bar Facebook page.


The Classic Martini Session


Come in and learn the secrets of the most ubiquitous cocktail in history, the classic Martini, featuring Yūjō, bartender Samuel Russ’ entry into The Perfect Blend 2020 Cocktail Competition.

Yūjō, meaning “friendship” in Japanese, is a toast to the strong bonds between Brisbane, Australia and Kobe, Japan who signed Brisbane’s first ever sister city agreement in 1985. A perfect blend of Japanese and Australian ingredients come together to create a crisp, refreshing martini served in a traditional Sake set to be shared among friends.

An arrival HAKU Highball will get the evening started before Sam unravels the mysteries of the martini with your choice of HAKU Vodka or ROKU Gin, two of Beam Suntory’s premium spirits made in Japan. Following this, guests are invited to indulge in a sampling of Yūjō whilst listening to the inspiration behind the drink.
