THE STORY BEHIND THE COCKTAIL NAME

A toast to the future. Hogmanay is the Scottish celebration for New Year’s Day. A time for reflection on the year that has passed and a time to look to the year ahead. Every year my mother would make a trifle on New Year’s Eve for us to enjoy on Hogmanay. Using Laphroaig 10yr, my Hogmanay cocktail honours my mother's tradition, a layered trifle inspired drink balancing fruit, spice, peat and cream. Hogmanay toasts to the future and promises that there will be good times ahead.

From the 10th to the 24th of February, Conor Teevan’s Hogmanay and Jared Huk’s Big Bad Wolf cocktails will be available for purchase at five venues in Wollongong - Births & Deaths, Dagwood, Howlin’ Wolf, The Little Prince, and Black Cockatoo.

For World Bartenders Day, they will be doing a Births & Deaths takeover at Howlin’ Wolf. They will be slinging their cocktails along with specials on Jim Beam and Laphroaig products.
