THE STORY BEHIND THE COCKTAIL NAME
After almost 5 years I decided to go back to Italy to visit my family and friends. Travelling is tough when you leave home but sometimes it is the right thing to do for your career. This cocktail is inspired by the aromas of my hometown that marries perfectly the botanicals in Sipsmith. I come from a little town called Sperlonga and we are famous around Italy for our Parsley, white celery and lemons, all very distinct aromas that you can smell around town. I infused celery in dry Vermouth to enhance all the botanical in the gin, as well as some savoury and creamy notes with the addition of the parsley orgeat. Aperol to bring out those bitter orange peels and last but not least some verjuice to balance the cocktail. As a garnish I made a salted lemon air to make you part of my journey back home, smelling lemon trees while walking on the beach. A Sip of Home Salute.
