THE STORY BEHIND THE COCKTAIL NAME

AND NOW WE TOAST!

I've always been a little ridiculous when it comes to my maturity/sense of humour/strange ideas, so when I saw we have to have "A toast to", my mind immediately got an image of people toasting with pieces of toast.

Then I thought of a few things, what do we toast with and well how they blend well with buttered toast itself.

Champagne has positioned themselves well in terms of toasts, celebrations and champagne has that yeasty butteryness.

Maker's Mark the sweetness of bread & marmalade and of course Laphroaig 10 the toast itself.

There are many toasts that we raise our glasses to; we have our tall ships, we have ups & downs, to those who have seen our best and our worst, to absent friends and to all things said & done.

To this we toast with Toast, champagne and whisky, to the mentalgen! The mental generation that make glasses out of sugar, people that make pine-cone soda, that make edible cocktail lollies, that clarify every goddamn thing they can get their hands on and of course support each other along the way, this toast is to you!
