THE STORY BEHIND THE COCKTAIL NAME
When you look back in time hopefully there are a few memories that are stand outs. What I mean by standout are defining moments in your life which contribute positively to your growth and understanding of the world around you. A turning point in the road. It could be, a change of lifestyle, a new destination, a new career. For me it was an acceptance. An acceptance for where I was heading and being at peace with it. It was like a ray of sun broke the clouds. Actually, it did literally. Rewind four years ago. The standard early twenties questioning of what in the world you are doing. I found myself on a very poorly planned camping trip to some part of the southeast coast of Queensland. Seven people crammed into one ute, two of them standing in the tray. Just one of the many dumb things you do when you're a little younger. Anyway, we pulled up and did what we did for the rest of the night battling mild intoxication, bugs and a lack of basic camping equipment. The next morning as the first rays of sun broke the sky line over the bay, I was woken up by the song Stolen Dance by Milky Chance pumping through the speakers (thankfully one thing we got right) and handed a fresh beverage through the folds of my swag. I struggled out had a seat in my chair and then had a swig. For some reason up until that very moment I was anxious about almost everything concerning my life trajectory. But, from that moment onwards I realised that I was right where I needed to be. Having a whisky on the beach and embracing what was to come. The Stolen Dance brings together this moment in time and two of my favourite drinks the 'Pina Colada' and the 'Pain Killer' with an Islay twist clarified in a milk punch style. I hope you enjoy. I raise my glass to you.
