THE STORY BEHIND THE COCKTAIL NAME

"The Path That Candles Light" is a toast to the pursuit and sharing of knowledge, the cycle of one master creating the next. To showcase the finesse and skill behind Haku Vodka I have looked back to the origins of Japanese distillation and the foundations of the art-form. Whether it was the Japanese people's own age-old techniques surrounding fermentation, seasonality and the pursuit of perfection or the Scottish people's respect for terroir and time (who the original Japanese masters learnt so very much from) - the Japanese approach to spirit production is one that was lit by many candles, many masters and many cultures.

"If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it". - Margaret Fuller
